What to expect: Unless you come in with an emergency, your first visit will consist of a complete and thorough examination. It's best to plan on at least an hour in the office. We'll review your medical and dental history and discuss the reasons for your visit. During your comprehensive smile evaluation, we'll:

• Examine each tooth for decay
• Assess your gums for signs of periodontal (gum) disease
• Perform an oral cancer screening
• Take digital photos
• Obtain a full series of digital X-rays
• Assess the function of your temporomandibular joints (TMJ)
• Perform a bite analysis
• Conduct an orthodontic evaluation
• Complete computerized charting
• Prepare study models
• Perform a cosmetic dentistry analysis and photo review
